Their perspectives, for the future of the power industry, will provide a valuable insight into future policies, plans and their implementation in order for Malaysia to meet its forthcoming energy challenges."
"The opening keynote session also provides a high level presentation from one of the major OEMs in Asia, whose role it is to deliver the solutions for meeting these demands and challenges. We are delighted that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will provide their analysis of the situation, which will be particularly interesting following the Fukushima tragedy earlier this year," continued Mr Blackaby.
CNBC to Moderate Keynote Panel Discussion
Following the presentations of the keynote, Sri Jegarajah, the Energy Market Reporter from CNBC Asia Pacific, will then interview the three keynote speakers, as part of a moderated discussion.
Looking to delve deeper into the thinking behind the policies and implementation of investment and infrastructure programmes, Sri Jegarajah will explore further with Dato' Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui, Dato' Sri Che Khalib Bin Mohamad Noh and Yoshiaki Tsukudahow how the region will meet the energy demands of the future.
With Malaysia currently investing around $10 billion in its power infrastructure, and tabled plans for additional gas fired plants, a range of renewable energy farms including solar, wind and bio technologies, as well as the introduction of a feed-in tariff, there will certainly be a great deal to discuss.
The Opening Keynote Session is open to all delegates, visitors and exhibitors to attend free of charge, and is expected to draw a packed auditorium at the state-of-the-art KLCC Convention Centre.
POWER-GEN Asia, co-located with Renewable Energy World Asia, from 27th to 29th September 2011, is anticipated to receive around 7,000 industry professionals, who will gather to enjoy the industry's leading conference and experience the latest developments and ideas for the future of the Asian power generation sector.
