Integrated Transportation System to Comfort Visitors to IIMS 2014

JAKARTA, Sep 23, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Up to Day-6 of the organizing of the 22nd Indonesia International Motor Show has recorded thousands of visitors. Based on the committee's data, as of Monday (22/09), the exhibition has gathered 157,572 visitors, and out of that, the number of visitors on weekend was the highest with more than 40 thousand visitors.

The skyrocketing visitors on weekend created a long queue of vehicles trying to enter the venue. To visitors' comfort, the committee offers some valuable tips. "Particularly for next weekend, 27 and 28 September 2014, visitors are advised to come earlier so they can park easily and have more time to enjoy the show. If the parking area at JIExpo is too crowded, we encourage visitors to use our extra parking spaces at Mega Glodok Kemayoran, and our new parking space at Mangga Dua Square. In both places, the committee has prepared free shuttle bus service that will pick up and drop off visitors from the parking area to the venue, and vice versa," said Abiyoso Wietono, Automotive Division Manager, Dyandra Promosindo.

For those who are using public transportation, or those who do not want to drive to the venue, the committee encourages them to use the free shuttle bus service at selected locations. This year, the service is available at Central Park, Artha Gading Mall, Margo City Depok, Pondok Indal Mall, Tamini Square, and fx Sudirman. At fx Sudirman, visitors of IIMS 2014 can enjoy free parking ticket for 1 hour.

The shuttle service is also available for visitors from outside Jakarta, particularly Bandung, which is available through collaboration with intercity service, Day Trans. Several pickup points from Bandung to the venue of IIMS 2014 are at Cihampelas, Dipatiukur, and Pasteur with operational hour from 4 AM to 9 PM. The service is offered to provide ease of access and comfort to visitors from Bandung and its surrounding area. For those who are going to IIMS, the committee and Day Trans offer day trip package of Bandung - IIMS - Bandung for IDR200 thousand, including entry ticket to IIMS 2014. One way ticket to the venue is priced at IDR125.000.

"I am very glad the committee offers this intercity transportation. I was using the service last year, as well. If possible, I hope the Bandung - IIMS travel will continue to be available in the coming years," said Mahfud, a Bandung automotive aficionado, enthusiastically.

One of the breakthroughs in this year's IIMS to comfort visitors is the free shuttle bus service at Djuanda train station. "Our hope is that this integrated transportation system will provide more comfort to visitors until the last day of the exhibition," said Abiyoso.

Student Day Enlivens IIMS 2014

As previously reported, today (23/09) IIMS 2014 as the biggest auto show in Indonesia acted as host to hundreds of students from several schools in Jakarta. They were invited to witness the development of the country's automotive industry through 'Student Day' program. Besides students, the program was also joined by children foundations.

Around 500 students from several vocational schools, such as SMKN 56 Jakarta, SMKN 5 Jakarta, SMKN 1 Bekasi, SMKN 1 Sukabumi, SMKN Taman Siswa Bekasi, Cinta Kasih Tzu Chi, and children of Yaqin orphan home, joined the program. They were shown around the exhibition area to enjoy the latest vehicles of IIMS 2014. They also took a short tour to the outdoor and semi-permanent area to see the supporting industry and their products. Some of the booths visited by the students were Mazda, Ford, Nissan, Daihatsu, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda, Chevrolet, KIA, Suzuki, Tata Motors, Chrysler, and Pertamina.

To welcome the Student Day, Suzuki's booth held student mini talkshow that was attended by students from SMKN 54 Jakarta, SMK Bina Mandiri Bekasi, SMKN 26 Jakarta, and SMKN 5 Jakarta. In the occasion, Dimelza Sharindradini, Head of 4W Communications Development PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, explained to students the history of Suzuki, its latest technologies, and engines used by Suzuki's products. At the event, Suzuki also donated cutting engine to SMKN 54 Jakarta and SMK Bina Mandiri Bekasi.

The program gained high attention from the students. One of the teachers that accompanied the students, Ismaninggar from SMKN 5 Jakarta, expressed her expectation that Suzuki would help her students by providing engine to the school, and provide access to visit Suzuki's plant at Cikarang. "This way, our students have first-hand experience on how to assemble Suzuki's engine and improve their experience right at the plant," said Ismaninggar. Similar view was shared by Surya, a student of SMKN 5 who were looking to visit Suzuki's plant, and to have intern opportunity at Suzuki. "My expectation is that sole agents would open positions to us, students of vocational schools," added Surya.
