Expressing Social Concern at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2013
JAKARTA, INDONESIA, Sep 23, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - Besides featuring the latest automotive products and technologies and entertainment programs during the weekend, the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2013 exhibition also shows its commitment toward another aspect of the exhibition, the social aspect. As in previous years, this year's exhibition is also filled with various social programs that are intended to raise the spirit to share.
The social programs planned for this year's exhibition among others are the Blood Donation, Tour for the Disabled, Student Visit, Book Donation, and also the handover of strollers and wheelchairs used in this exhibition to orphanages and nursing homes, which will be conducted after the closing of the exhibition next week.
This year's 'Blood Donation' program is conducted in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and takes place at the Press Conference Room Hall B. Blood donations from visitors and participants at IIMS 2013 will be accepted on the 24, 26, and 28 September. On the first two days the blood donation program will be carried out from 11 AM to 1 PM, while on 28 September, the program runs from 10 AM to 1 PM. The committee hopes this year's blood donation will collect enough blood which can be used later to help those in need.
"We want to show the public that through these social programs, the exhibition is not merely focused on commercial and entertaining activities but also pays great attention to the social aspect. We are inviting visitors and participants of IIMS 2013 to take part in our social activity programs, such as our blood donation program which we believe has a great impact on others," said Abiyoso Wietono, Automotive Division Manager, Dyandra Promosindo.
Those who want to donate their blood must first register and go through a medical check. The procedure is to select donors as not everybody is eligible to become a donor. A person who wishes to be a donor must have weight of at least 48 kilograms and minimum age of 17 years old. This is done to select donors and to make sure that donated blood is healthy blood.
Besides the blood donation program, the committee of IIMS 2013 also holds other programs such as Tour for the Disable that will take place on September 25th, 2013; Student Day on 26th September, 2013 and other interesting programs. Prior to the exhibition, the committee had completed another social program, IIMS Student Visit to Assembly Plant, which is a visit to sole agents' plants that took place on August 26th to September 3rd.
Supporting Facilities for Visitors of IIMS 2013
Just as in previous years, this year's Indonesia International Motor Show visitors are pampered with various facilities for their comfort such as free strollers and wheelchairs. The strollers and wheelchairs can be found at the Trade Center Building, JIExpo, next to the ticket counter.
The requirement to enjoy the free strollers or wheelchairs are simple. Visitors who want to borrow a stroller must first fill in the registration form at the registration desk and submit a valid Driver's License of ID card. They must also submit their mobile phone number which so as to be contacted during the 2-hour per stroller/wheelchair period. When the time limit is up, borrowers will be notified by the committee to return the stroller/wheelchair immediately, assuring the facility can be enjoyed by the next visitor on the list.
Siska Megasaputri, an employee of an automotive company who come with her two children had the opportunity to enjoy the facility, said, "I find this facility really helpful because I forgot to bring my stroller and when I see this at first it will cost me some money but when I asked, the person in charge said it's free. I've imagined my shoulder would be very fatigued holding my baby around this huge exhibition area, but thank God it didn't happen."
The same experience is shared by Chandra Putra, who came with his wife and two children. "This is very convenient. When I was first in 2010, I didn't have kids yet so this facility did not interest me. But now, it really helps me. It saves me and my wife from taking turn to carry the baby."
The strollers and wheelchairs provided in IIMS 2013 is not only useful for visitors of IIMS 2013 but also for others; when the exhibition is over, the strollers and wheelchairs will be donated to orphanages and nursing homes. "We have donated the strollers and wheelchairs since last year's exhibition. We hope the strollers and wheelchairs can be useful for others," said Abiyoso.
