Honda、米国オハイオ州の工場を、北米におけるEV生産のハブ拠点へ

東京, 2022年10月12日 - (JCN Newswire) - Hondaの米国現地法人であるアメリカン・ホンダモーター（本社：カリフォルニア州トーランス社長：貝原典也）は、現地時間2022年10月11日に以下を発表しましたので、その内容をご案内いたします。

Hondaは、今後のEVの本格的な生産に向けて、米国オハイオ州内の3つの既存工場（四輪車を生産するメアリズビル工場とイーストリバティ工場、四輪車用パワートレインを生産するアンナ・エンジン工場）に、合計7億USドルを投資して生産設備を更新します。Hondaは今後、これらの工場を、北米におけるEV生産のハブ拠点として進化させていきます。

この生産設備の更新により、2026年に北米で発売を予定しているEV向けプラットフォーム「Honda e:アーキテクチャー」を採用したEVを、オハイオ州で生産する予定です。アンナ・エンジン工場で製造するバッテリーケースと、LGエナジーソリューションとのEV用バッテリー生産合弁会社の工場で生産されるバッテリーモジュールを、メアリズビル工場で組み合わせてバッテリーユニットを製造し、これをメアリズビル工場とイーストリバティ工場で生産するEVに搭載します。

Hondaは、1982年にメアリズビル工場で、日本の自動車メーカーとして初めて米国における四輪車の生産を開始し、今年で40周年を迎えました。今後、オハイオ州の生産拠点をHondaの北米におけるEV生産のハブ拠点と位置づけ、北米内の他の四輪車生産拠点にEVの生産技術やノウハウを展開していきます。
