Jointly Establishing the International Land Port Hospital; Universal Medical and First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University to Initiate the Public-Private-Partnership Model

HONG KONG, Jan 10, 2016 - (ACN Newswire) - Universal Medical Financial & Technical Advisory Services Company Limited ("Universal Medical" or the "Company"; stock code: 2666) and the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University ("First Affiliated Hospital") today officially signed the investment agreement pertaining to the joint establishment of the International Land Port Hospital under First Affiliated Hospital ("ILP Hospital"). The ILP Hospital project, supported by national policies, is a project integrating "Medicine, Education, Research, Nursing, and Treatment" which applies the Public-Private-Partnership model ("PPP model"). Both parties of the cooperation, aimed at building a first-class high-tech medical center in Northwest China, will jointly establish and operate the ILP Hospital. Meanwhile, the two parties will establish a community combining medical and nursing care which measures up to international standards by this platform, making which a benchmark for other projects combining medical and nursing care nationwide.

The project, the first collaboration between one of the central hospitals under National Health and Family Planning Commission ("NHFPC") and a company supported by social capital, is a piece of pioneering work applying the PPP model in the medical and healthcare field, and truly, is a milestone for the development of China's healthcare undertakings. ILP Hospital is planned to be a comprehensive hospital with the capacity of 1,000 beds and Class III grade. The Company will provide full support for the establishment and operation of ILP Hospital, including funding, technical service, management and training. The parties further agreed to establish a joint venture to manage healthcare business of ILP Hospital. The ILP Hospital is proposed to be built into a Class III-A-grade comprehensive hospital with specialized and combined departments providing international medical treatment based on effective information platform. Meanwhile, nursing homes, public service center and commercial and life supporting facilities are planned to be built in the vicinity of the ILP Hospital. The joint establishment is estimated to significantly improve the medical service capability for people in Shaanxi Province and its surrounding areas, and hence, people in Northwest China will embrace far-reaching benefits.
