Rimba Raya Hands Over Development Funds to Village Chiefs in Central Kalimantan
Seruyan, C Kalimantan, INDONESIA, Jan 02, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - PT Rimba Raya Conservation (PT RRC) handed over Village Development Funds on Dec. 23 to the village chiefs of Sungai Perlu village and Tanjung Rengas village in Seruyan Hilir, Seruyan regency, Central Kalimantan as part of the Community Development Programme.
Nisa Jalil, Vice President of Public & Government Relations for PT RRC, explained the handover of the Funds was officially marked with a signing by the representative of PT RRC, James Simatupang and the two village chiefs, and was witnessed by the Regent of Seruyan Hilir and a representative of World Education.
Attending the Funds handover ceremony were H. Priyo Widigdo, Head of Marine and Fisheries Office of Seruyan regency, and Drh. Rita Ningsih, the representative of the Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Office of Seruyan regency, and the Police Chief and the Commander of the military district of Seruyan regency.
Idham BW Kusumah, the Regent of Seruyan Hilir, welcomed the Village Development Funds and hoped that they would be able to increase the welfare of the local community. He also hoped that the people of Seruyan Hilir would support PT RRC's work programs.
Nisa Jalil confirmed that Funds addressed to Sungai Perlu village would be allocated for the purchase of fishing equipment, while Tanjung Rengas village plans to allocate for purchasing cows, which will be used to develop cattle farms in the village.
"To date, PT Rimba Raya Conservation has handed over Village Development Funds to six partner villages in Community Development programs - Ulak Batu, Palingkau, Telaga Pulang, Muara Dua, Sungai Perlu, and Tanjung Rengas. In the near future, PT RRC will hand over additional funds to the further partner villages of Jahitan, Cempaka Baru, Baung, and Palingkau."
