Connell Brothers Hires Asia-Pacific Regional Coatings Technical Manager

JAKARTA, INDONESIA, Aug 02, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - Connell Brothers, the largest marketer and distributor of specialty chemicals and industrial ingredients in Asia-Pacific, announced today that it has hired Dr. Nurudin Budiman, formerly of BASF, as its new regional technical manager for the Coatings Business Unit. Dr. Budiman is tasked with supporting the company's sales and technical teams across the region in product formulation, and in seeking out new opportunities in the Asia-Pacific coatings distribution market. Dr. Budiman will be based in Jakarta.

Dr. Budiman has a strong background in polymers and coatings. During his time at BASF, he served four years as senior manager at the ASEAN Technical Center in Jakarta. He led a team of 30 in both regional and local labs focusing on coatings related segments, both product development and application work.

Prior to this, Dr. Budiman worked at Clariant where he served for seven years as senior R&D manager for polymer dispersions, and as the head of the technical center based in Indonesia. He also oversaw the technologies platform of emulsions, surfactants, biocides, pigments, and additives, as well as applications into coatings, textile, leather and paper. He led a staff of 23 responsible for the development and application work of products into Indonesia, SEA, China and India.

Dr. Budiman began his career with Eternal Chemicals as a senior R&D chemist. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Bandung Institute of Technology and then obtained his Ph.D. from Lehigh University in the United States.
