NEC、フランス最大手テレビ局と5Gを活用した8K映像ライブ伝送に成功

東京, 2019年07月16日 - (JCN Newswire) - NECは、フランス・パリで行われたテニスの国際大会において、フランス最大手テレビ局フランス・テレビジョン(France Televisions)や8K放送機器メーカー各社と共に、第5世代移動通信方式(以下、5G)を活用した8K映像ライブ伝送の実証を実施しました。

本実証では、リアルタイム映像圧縮技術を活用したNECの8K素材伝送用エンコーダ「VC-8900」を利用し、会場内に設置された「特設会場」において、高精細な8K映像を8K映像モニターや5G対応のスマートフォン、タブレットへライブ伝送しました。

NECは、今回の取り組みを契機に、2020年とその先を見据えた高精細映像による次世代放送サービスの実現・普及拡大をさらに推進していきます。
