三菱商事、米国メキシコ湾で洋上原油生産設備（FPSO）事業の生産開始

シェル・オフショア社向のFPSO傭船・操業・保守事業

東京, 2016年09月09日 - (JCN Newswire) - 三菱商事株式会社（以下、当社）は、当社、日本郵船株式会社（以下、日本郵船）及びSBM Offshore N.V.（以下、SBM）の合弁会社が保有し、シェル・オフショア社向けに投入しているFPSO（注１）において、9月2日より原油生産を開始致しましたので、お知らせ致します。

FPSOは大型原油タンカーを改造して建造され、シェル・オフショア社が権益を保有する米国メキシコ湾の油田（Stones油田（注2））に設置されており、世界で最も深い水深（水深約2,900ｍ）での原油生産を達成したFPSOとなります。

本件は当社にとって、2012年に受注したブラジル沖北部Sapinhoa鉱区向FPSO 1隻、2013年に受注した同BM-S-11鉱区向FPSO 2隻に続く、FPSO傭船・操業・保守事業の第4号案件となります。当社はこれまで培ってきた実績を基に、今後も需要が見込まれるFPSO傭船事業及び海洋資源開発関連分野への取り組みを進めてまいります。

（注１）FPSO
Floating Production, Storage & Offloading Systemの略。浮体式海洋原油・ガス生産貯蔵積出設備。海底油田から産出された原油から固形物、水、気体を除去して商品品質の原油として貯蔵し、出荷単位量になったところで輸送シャトルタンカーへの払出しを行う。

シェル・オフショア社が権益を保有する、米国ルイジアナ州沖合約320km、水深約2,900メートルに位置する深海油田
